The Geneva International Legal Association (GILA) was launched last week aiming to unite various stakeholders from Geneva’s legal and business communities and promote Geneva as an international hub for law and legal services.
Bär & Karrer proudly joins as a founding member of GILA, an initiative spearheaded by the Geneva Bar Association. Partner Aurélie Conrad Hari has been appointed as Vice President of the Association.
GILA aims to elevate the recognition of legal services as crucial for social development and economic competitiveness, promote Swiss law internationally, and foster collaboration among stakeholders involved in dispute resolution in Geneva, spanning judicial, economic, political, academic, and technological sectors.
The Association also advocates for the use of English in dispute resolution and will organize the Geneva International Legal Week (March 10-12, 2025), drawing inspiration from similar projects in London, Paris, Dublin, Dubai, Riyadh, and Singapore.
GILA is supported by key partners including the cantonal and municipal authorities of Geneva, the Fédération des Entreprises Romandes (FER), the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIG), and the Fondation pour l’attractivité du canton de Genève (FLAG).
