It’s Complicated: Multijurisdictional Incapacity

Which issues will your incapacitated client face when the unexpected happens while traveling or living abroad? Will your client’s powers of attorney work abroad? This dynamic session explored the challenges of becoming incapable of managing property and personal care for the global citizen (or world traveler). It first presented a jurisdictional survey of Swiss, English, and Florida incapacity law, followed by a case study and live role-play of the dilemma faced by a U.S. expat living in London, U.K., after a catastrophic ski accident in Switzerland.
