Bunzl plc Expands in Switzerland

Bunzl plc, the international distribution and outsourcing Group listed on London Stock Exchange, acquires 100% of the shares of MMH Holding AG and its subsidiaries from Markus Meier, Daniel Meier and Reto Hofmann through its Swiss subsidiary Weita Holding AG. The acquired business, which trades under the name Distrimondo Group, is principally engaged in the distribution of foodservice disposables and cleaning and hygiene products throughout Switzerland. Its revenue in the year ended 31 December 2011 was CHF 17.3 million and the gross assets acquired are estimated to be CHF 16 million. The acquisition of Distrimondo allows Bunzl plc to expand its operations in Switzerland, a market which it entered in 2010 with the purchase of Weita Holding AG.
